New Palace & Schlossplatz

Anyone strolling from the DeutschAkademie through the Königstraße shopping street can make a stop at the beautifully situated Schlossplatz. In this small green oasis in the city centre, we can recharge our batteries. In the background you can see the New Palace, which is strongly reminiscent of the Palace of Versailles.

Since the 1860s, a blooming flower garden has been located here and the two fountains invite you to cool off in summer. There are also a number of open-air events such as concerts and film screenings throughout the year.

If you need a break from learning German, you can walk through the forest to one of Stuttgart's most famous sights, the TV tower. Those with a head for heights can enjoy the view from the top at a height of 217 meters or visit the restaurant in the TV tower. You can even see as far as the Swabian Alb on a clear day!

By the way: Stuttgart's television tower is the first TV tower made of reinforced concrete in the world.

The Stuttgart market hall is the ideal place to enjoy a delicious snack before a German course. It has existed for over 100 years. Locals and tourists meet here to taste fruit, vegetables, sausage and meat products, spices and much more.

Fun fact: The oldest streetcar tracks in the city are located in the hall, as goods used to be delivered directly to the market hall by train.

Rack Railway, Santiago de Chile Square

Sometimes it takes a change of perspective to see things clearly again. This is also true when learning German. That's why we leave the language school and the Stuttgart valley. The best way out of the valley is via the "Zacke". This is the name of Stuttgart's historic rack railway, which climbs 200 meters in altitude on its way.

You can get a taste of South America at the Santiago de Chile square. Situated at the top of the Kesselberg, it offers a magnificent view of the valley in which Stuttgart lies. By the way: Santiago de Chile has its counterpart - the "Plaza Stuttgart".
